Pros

- My manager is fantastic, if he were to leave I would look to leave immediately - Overcall work life balance culture is still better than a lot of tech companies. I don’t usually see a lot of people online in the evenings or weekends - There are some efforts in place to keep the morale up

Cons

- They bring in Americans to run the Canadian business and they run it like Americans. It causes unnecessary chaos just so unreasonable revenue targets can be met - It’s a sales company and not a payroll or SaaS company. Sales will overpromise and oversell to clients to make sure they hit their numbers without fully understanding how the systems work and what the clients need - Extremely disorganized especially considering how large of a company this is and the revenue it generates - Many teams are overloaded and overwhelmed because leadership seems to be trying to keep as much profit as possible for themselves. The work culture is in the gutters. It used to be different - Lower pay compared to competitors - Bare minimum in terms of appreciation for employees year end hard work - they set aside very small budgets where they got employees stale pizza from pizza pizza, which is a joke for a company that makes billions in revenue and they chose to spend less about a $1 or $2 on each employee. For other events sometimes employees need to spend money from their own pockets to cover for expenses. The older generations would be content with this type of recognition but the younger generations will have an eye out for the better opportunity and not be invested in their role or growth at ADP - With the way they are treating their clients and employees, in the long term, it’s only going to be downhill from here. The way they’re handling business is extremely short term, very focused on just quarters and a year or two - Some of the softwares used are extremely outdated and very unintuitive. It makes doing things more difficult than it needs to be - They will significant cut your bonus if you don’t meet office attendance policy - Compensation needs to be better considering the workload

Pros

Resume Gold! Having the name on your resume opens doors because people know you can survive a high-volume, high-complexity environment. That’s where the benefits end.

Cons

Pay: It’s a joke. They expect specialized, expert-level work and deep tax knowledge for a base salary that is way below the market. They use the big name as an excuse to underpay you. Work/Life Balance: You are never truly off. To hit the impossible quotas, people are forced to work off the clock just to keep up. Management knows this is the only way the work gets done, but they look the other way so they don't have to address the workload. Management: They are manipulative and not leaders. Instead of helping with the workload, they use moving goalposts and vague promises of growth to keep you running. There is no advocacy for employees. Make sure to get everything in writing. Some get amnesia. Quantity over Quality: It’s a sweatshop for data. You’re forced to rush through complex setups just to hit a Go-Live count to appease Sales. Accuracy is key, but it often takes a backseat to volume, which is a nightmare for anyone who cares about doing the job right. No Room to Grow: There is no real way to move up. ADP is a lateral move company, and that’s only if your management doesn’t stand in your way and prevent you from leaving for another internal team.
