    Was a heaven at one point of time. No pros at present

    Your future is full of uncertainties. Could be a great turn around or could be waiting for doomsday.

    Define a clear picture and take your current employees into confidence, don't keep them guessing

    I have been working at Opera Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good learned colleagues - only during the first 2 years of my career, later almost all left

    Cons

    Hired me for software engineering, smartly put us all in maintainence work making it sound like insights group.ultimately with passing time, skill set kept growing down and we land up in this situation of being unsure of what we know in our skills.

    Advice to Management

    Stop playing politics with the employees who are sincere in their work, giving unexpected hike to peers and showing that you are the best.

    Used to have a few -
    1. work environment
    2. learning
    3. Big data analytics
    4. prestigious clients/projects

    Cons

    Lately the organization has been taken over to money lenders
    1. CEO was kicked overnight from his job of 14 years; whole CxO suite has been kicked out.
    2. Too much attrition is happening
    3. It's panic in every office across regions
    4. There is no direction to Shanghai office
    5. Over 60 people have been asked to leave in order to curb costs
    6. Hardly any leadership left
    7. They keep trying to sell their good for nothing in-house software on which spent millions in vain
    8. Several people have been left stranded
    9. No future.
    10. People trying to seek refuge wherever possible
    11. Hear HR is running from office to office identifying people that can be kicked out
    12. Over 10 employees have been kicked from India office

    Advice to Management

    New CEO - Please have some sense of direction and try to explain more of your actions and give some visibility to the employees.
    What happened to the transparency promises that were made while you had taken over?

    - No Pros as of today

    Cons

    - No outlook for the India office
    - High attrition - 70% of the IIT IIM crowd has left
    - Incapable, biased & immature higher management left
    - Hiring from IIT-IIM has been on stop since last 2 years
    - No work from home (It used to be one of the perks of Opera)

    Advice to Management

    Communicate to the current employee base left about the firm's vision and take ownership in building the firm again. If the vision is to dissolve India office - be graceful in communicating that.
