"Some of the most successful people I know listen more than they talk. We need leaders who focus on building the organizations they run, not their own egos" - read more about Cloudera's Mark Micallef, Vice President - APAC, thoughts in this new blog post.

Great new #blog post: 'How Cloudera Is Opening Doors for Underserved Youth'. The Cloudera Equality Committee dreamed up a vision to work with youth in underserved areas to provide access to experiences and education that they otherwise would not have. This blog describes the journey in executing on that vision. The initiative, launched in spring 2021, came out of Cloudera’s Equality Committee, formed in June 2020 with the goal of increasing equality and inclusion at the company. Thank you to Valaretha Brown, Courtney Dillard and Stephanie Han for providing great insights. Grateful for everyone-Happy Thanksgiving! 🙌🏼 #boysandgirlsclub #clubnext #stem #dei #inclusion #equality
No company is perfect, but I think that Cloudera is certainly a place to grow professionally for the following reasons: A culture that has career progression deeply ingrained. “Grow with Cloudera” is one of the core philosophies here, internal promotions are very prevalent and managers genuinely care about your professional development. It’s very meritocratic, and a flat hierarchy ensures that “no good deed remains unnoticed” I might not have mentioned this before, but the people at Cloudera are amazing and will go above and beyond to help you. I have had managers vouch for me when moving to other teams and have had colleagues share key advice before interviews.
Cloudera's Will Dailey served in the United States Navy. In this Veterans Day blog spotlight, he takes Gino Gemignani through his military career, his transition into the private sector, and then to Cloudera. You'll learn how his time in the military shaped him and other veterans, and the importance of veterans’ contributions to the workforce today.
Cloudera UK's most excellent Paul Wooding, Regional Sales Director, is spotlighted on our Blog for Veteran's Day: When talking about veterans, Paul points out there is sometimes a misconception that those enlisted in the military get accustomed to doing what they are told and therefore lack initiative. “This couldn’t be farther from the truth. In the military, you learn how to survive and function under extreme circumstances until the mission is completed. This kind of initiative and work ethic I believe translates well to the private sector,” he explained.
