Pros

401k match is great, overall benefits are okay, pto and sick time are good. Work life balance has historically been great but seems to be trending the wrong direction.

Cons

The pay is below market which, combined with a drop off of company culture and increase in health benefits, has cause a large number of top talent to accept identical roles elsewhere.

Making it difficult

Pros

Holidays, vacation time, no long hours

Cons

Frustrating. 3 years ago they forced a new role model to the retail side. Made the traditional banking environment into a financial wellness center. 3 years later the financial wellness center environment did not work. Going back to traditional banking. Bringing back Lead Tellers. Lead Teller responsible for every working part of the branch. Including all the walk in customers, all the drive up customers, all operational tasks, vault, ATM. For a very low wage. Personal Bankers will be required to be outside the bank bringing in business or they will never meet their high goals.

Pros

the computer systems are so incredibly outdated and have issues all the time. mgmt is overall easygoing if you do your job and what is expected of you.

Cons

onboarding and training is very disorganized and does not get you ready for your daily job at all. my original managers expected me to know everything when i was brand new and were terrible to ask for help. thankfully they have been fired and my new manager is much more easy going but has never done the job that he is managing so is not much help. overall 7/10 place to work

Pros

a few good people who cared, some not so much

Cons

bad tech/computer issues across retail locations, effects customer service negatively, training is mostly virtual and varies from how coworker will tell you leaves out important details and proper time to read procedures is often not given, management didnt communicate realistic expectations clearly or standardized enough nor do they have much capacity to listen to employees regarding real issues. impossible to get clear answers around important matters. many angry clients leaving and closing accounts

Pros

From a pay and work duties standpoint, you could do a lot worse than KeyBank. Many of the branch managers I had were excellent; I met some very kind and very supportive people during my time there.

Cons

It is impossible to untangle my feelings towards KeyBank from the behavior I saw while I worked there. I rotated between more than five different branches in total and the level of workplace professionalism I encountered was not good. In my experience Key seems to hire a lot of younger staff (late teens and early twenties) and there was A LOT of immaturity and bad behavior wherever I went. Of course there were nice people as well, but in only a few short months I saw so much childishness that I quickly came to the conclusion that I did not want to be part of such an organization.
