Basically being a Teller

Pros

The systems are generally user-friendly, and the company provides adequate training.

Cons

I expected to focus on helping clients reach their financial goals and providing tailored product solutions. In reality, the job has turned out to be mostly teller transactions and managing difficult interactions — often with unhoused or aggressive individuals, especially in a city like Seattle. It’s far from what I imagined. Advancement is heavily tied to meeting aggressive sales goals, and without hitting those targets, moving into a different role is nearly impossible. The role isn’t aligned with what I thought a career in banking would be.

Pros

the computer systems are so incredibly outdated and have issues all the time. mgmt is overall easygoing if you do your job and what is expected of you.

Cons

onboarding and training is very disorganized and does not get you ready for your daily job at all. my original managers expected me to know everything when i was brand new and were terrible to ask for help. thankfully they have been fired and my new manager is much more easy going but has never done the job that he is managing so is not much help. overall 7/10 place to work

Pros

They encourage you to grow, and it's a stable job.

Cons

Branch manager needs more training in managing. I have had good and bad managers. If you are on top of the scorecard, you are untouchable, but it applies to managers as well to abuse their power over their team. Due to the fact that managers are paid a salary, some only show up for less than 3 hours a day or week. In my own branch experience, there is favoritism and blatant disrespect from manager to PCB, FWC and Tellers.

Pros

a few good people who cared, some not so much

Cons

bad tech/computer issues across retail locations, effects customer service negatively, training is mostly virtual and varies from how coworker will tell you leaves out important details and proper time to read procedures is often not given, management didnt communicate realistic expectations clearly or standardized enough nor do they have much capacity to listen to employees regarding real issues. impossible to get clear answers around important matters. many angry clients leaving and closing accounts

Manager matters

Pros

Great benefits, adequate training, good communication in an ever changing role.

Cons

The manager you have really matters. Some are incredible, some micromanage every second of your day but are missing when you need them. Direct managers are better than higher ups
