A Sinking Ship

Pros

Great health benefits Hybrid work environment

Cons

The new upper management has completely gutted this once great organization. There is ZERO consideration for tenure, loyalty or hard work. They recently laid off a third of their employees after several unsuccessful business decisions. Some of these people dedicated years to help this company grow to simply be thrown out like yesterday's garbage. Those of us remaining are being asked to pick up the extra work, with fewer resources.

Pros

Lexicon is a great company for anyone looking to get experience in domestic legal situations while studying or looking for a paralegal or attorney role. Benefits are decent but not as good as HR is making it sound like they are. The Managing Partners are really wonderful to work with at Cordell, they won't give you bad information.

Cons

You will be lied to by Human Resources. Expect it and know that will happen. They are downsizing and empathy is completely gone.

Good until it wasn't

Pros

Decent pay & good work-life balance. Really good benefits. I liked my supervisor and could tell they cared (can't say the same about upper management).

Cons

New CEO & upper management do not care about you. They just laid off about 40 people and expect the same work to be done by the remaining employees. Also, things constantly changed. Rules/procedures changed every couple of weeks and it could be confusing on what was currently active.

Pros

Open-door policy. My input matters, so I feel confident about sharing my concerns and ideas with the managers. Lots of variety, which keeps the job fun. With good planning, the tasks are manageable. Solid benefits, especially the 401(k) match and health coverage.

Cons

Heavy workload during big campaigns

Pros

The team is incredibly supportive and collaborative—we pair program often, and brainstorming sessions are always fun and insightful. There's a real focus on mentorship. I appreciate the regular tech talks and hackathons that encourage experimentation and creativity. The flexible work schedule and casual dress code make the day-to-day comfortable and balanced. Pay is competitive and fair, with regular raises and spot bonuses recognizing solid work. The benefits package is great too, offering generous healthcare, a wellness stipend, and a 401(k) match.

Cons

Occasional tight deadlines under high pressure.

Pros

Good benefits, HR and Management spins a great tale of transparency

Cons

This company made poor business decisions that resulted in letting 40 people go. The financial issues are not through lack of clients, but really it really was poor business decisions. Think twice if ever get offered a job. Of they get out of this hole, they will find their way back into a new one.

Toxic – Stay Away

Pros

Some genuinely talented and kind coworkers who try to make the best of a difficult environment.

Cons

Don’t be fooled by the positive reviews, many are misleading. This workplace is driven by fear, not leadership. The “client” calls all the shots, and top leadership is too afraid to stand up or make real decisions. It’s a yes-man culture where growth and independent thinking are discouraged. The environment feels like high school, full of cliques and a mean-girl mentality. There’s little to no transparency, and most employees are constantly worried about job security. Decisions are made behind closed doors, often without logic or fairness. There is no real DEI — any mention of diversity, equity, and inclusion is quickly swept under the rug. It’s clear they don’t care about hiring diverse candidates, and if you are diverse, you’re often treated differently. Benefits are hyped up as premium, but they’re just average, used more as bait than real value. If you’re looking to grow, learn, or feel supported in your role, this isn’t the place. There are far better companies out there with stronger leadership, better culture, and more honest values.
