Toxic and dysfunctional

Pros

Pay and great company perks

Cons

Lack of clear job roles and responsibilities Endless amount of trackers to cover for the lack of properly functioning systems. No cohesive systems between manufacturing systems so everything is done with excel spreadsheets. Favoritism and if you’re not one they make it so toxic to push you out. No accountability from leadership who expects everyone else to fix the issues they create, but will dislike any suggestions you make. 10+ hours a day short staffed 0 work life balance.

Pros

Company looks prestigious on your resume. Large company network with potential relocation opportunities, lateral moves, etc. Pay was decent for my department and location. I made great connections and had the opportunity to collaborate on projects that helped me grow as a professional.

Cons

Buckle up, because this will be a long one. Nestle took over the company I had been working for full-time for years. We had already changed hands a few times, so I was no stranger to some of the growing pains that came with acquisitions. The Nestle acquisition was hands-down the worst experience of them all. They changed too much too fast, and we suffered for their mistakes. They took away so much, the health benefits were more expensive for less coverage, and they insisted on treating highly educated scientists like line workers. The company is so large that calling HR feels like contacting a customer service line. In many ways, they truly embody the corporate evil that we all talk about. They plaster on the fakest smiles and tell you you're family, but their actions say otherwise. My own personal experience within my department was a rough one. If it weren't for the people I enjoyed working with and the level of seniority I had, I would have left sooner. Many days were miserable. Drama and favoritism were rampant. Someone was crying about something every other day. Leaving was such a weight off my shoulders.

Pros

Decent vehicle program, discounts on some Nestle products.

Cons

Not enough time off. No work-life balance. Culture, high turnover, pay is on lower end, incentive compensation program is volatile, poor forecasting for goals, sales volume reporting inaccurate. People have been paid double for multiple quarters and then they want them to repay the overage. Some have had 30% of their volume missing, and they won't even investigate.

Pros

Coworkers are fantastic for the most part, friendly and smart. NHS is fully remote for most roles, allowing for flexibility. Most roles seem to have decent pay bands and there is a supportive work culture where transferring roles if you are performing well seems very doable. Benefits are better than average.

Cons

Extremely large, matrixed organization that takes some getting used to. As with any large org, there is a potential for layoffs.
