Prime Video DigiFlex Operations (PVGO) is a team that relentlessly works with partners and is responsible for ingesting content using both partner-facing and internal technologies. We obsess over ensuring that every search, discovery and playback interaction with Prime Video (PV) is device agnostic, defect free and results in a high engagement experience for Customers. We collaborate with stakeholders across Prime Video to define, refine and uphold PV’s Customer experience, Quality bar and metrics. PVGO plays an essential role in Prime Video, ensuring that the content that powers our vision to be the premier source of global entertainment is complete and correct.
We are a group of entertainment enthusiasts based out of Chennai, passionate about ensuring all our customers around the globe have access to the content they need when they need it. Our Tooling & Automation team owns and operates a mission-critical internal Work Management Platform that powers 100+ operational workflows used daily by hundreds of associates for content publishing, quality assurance, and model training. We are looking for a strong Systems Development Engineer to take ownership of platform modules, drive architectural improvements, and deliver high-impact features that scale the platform to meet growing operational tooling needs.
Key job responsibilities
You will contribute to all aspects of an agile systems development life cycle including design, architecture, development, documentation, testing, and operations. Primary responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and enhancing the Work Management Platform - ensuring system stability, performance, and availability for 100+ operational workflows.
- Building new platform features and workflow capabilities based on product requirements and operational needs.
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing production software issues; implementing fixes for internally developed code with urgency.
- Developing automation and monitoring solutions to improve system readiness and operational excellence.
- Writing production-grade code and participating in code reviews with substantive technical feedback.
- Building and maintaining data pipelines and integrations between the platform and upstream/downstream systems.
- Implementing proactive monitoring and alerting to ensure pipeline reliability and early detection of issues.
- Reducing operational toil through tooling improvements and infrastructure automation.
- Creating documentation including design documents, runbooks, and operational procedures.
- Participating in on-call rotations and contributing to root cause analyses.
A day in the life
As a Systems Development Engineer I, you will be responsible for maintaining the Work Management Platform, building new features, fixing production issues, and improving the reliability and performance of the system. You will work on the full engineering lifecycle - from design through deployment and operations - contributing to both sustaining engineering and new feature development that directly impacts the productivity of hundreds of operations associates.
