Interview
There was just one interview with the hiring manager. This is very common with post-COVID job interviews, it was online, brief, and with minimal time for rapport building. The manager appeared to be a decent guy, but I left with no sense of who is was as a person.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The hiring manager was interested in my background from my resume. During the interview, he asked me questions that had me elaborate on my experience.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at IBM (San Jose, CA) in Mar 2018
Interview
The interview process took 4 months, I was recruited. I had an initial screen with HR, she was by far the most competent and hardest working person I spoke with. The second interview, was a phone call with a director on the east coast. He was 3 hours late to call me, (i'm serious) still very informative, intelligent and kind though. After these 2 rounds, they flew me to San Jose/Silicon Valley to interview with 3 people 1x1. This was one of the most unprofessional experiences of my career. Women in power at IBM are bullies, with a clear internalized misogyny. I don't believe they are interested in improving the team/product/company, rather avoiding anyone smarter than themselves or whom they perceive better looking. One woman, with an MBA from MIT told me "at least you got to see the magic of silicon valley". I was there less than 24 hours, I am not a child looking for magic, silicon valley is strip malls devoid of culture and I had to pay for food, lyfts, etc. (This adds up fast). I work for a fortune 500 company now, I have an MBA, and this was by far the most unprofessional experience I have encountered in my career. Please don't waste your time with IBM, they have bad ratings/publicity/numbers because of these people they put in charge.

Interview
total incompetence from HR . not understanding at all the position and work required for which they are making the interview. at the 1:1 it was ok as the manager seems to know something, but later on it was another manager who was assigned that was not involved in the interview process and was completely unaware of what is required from him.
