I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at IBM in Jul 2019
Interview
Applied through their career portal. Got an email from a recruiter not long after to say that the hiring manager would be directly in touch. Had an hourlong conversation with her to discuss background and job requirements. Thought the conversation went fairly well, the hiring manager said she was happy with me and would be in touch to discuss next steps, but never did. Later turned out that the hiring manager had transferred to a completely new role and moved halfway across the world, not long after my interview (this was from finding her job history on Linkedin). Considering the time invested, the least they could have done was send a followup email.. she had my email too, as I sent her a thank you email for the interview. Left a bad taste in my mouth.
I applied through other source. I interviewed at IBM (Jaipur, Rajasthan) in Nov 2017
Interview
It started with aptitude round. There were two sections, one for series completion and other for quants.
Quants were quite easy but for series completion, questions were very unusual and trick. eg.
30, 15, 9, 6.3, _
Ans= 5.04
30*0.5=15
15*0.6=9
9*0.7= 6.3
6.3*0.8= 5.04
The second round was business writing. It was easy. MCQs related to active/ passive tec were there.
It was followed by GD. They were judging how nicely you can interact with a team and how much you are cooperating with others around you. I said only 1 sentence but still got selected. Don't raise your voice. Stay calm and try to reach a conclusion.
After that, interview. Could be technical or HR depending on your luck. My panelist was technical. I had good knowledge of the company and its work. So, it was a cake walk for me. It was more sort of discussion rather than an interview.
This took 2 days. Drive was in Jaipur.
