I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Capita (Liverpool, England) in Mar 2019
Interview
Offered phone interview within 30 minutes of submitting my application.
Passed interview with flying colours: "no constructive criticism to offer" and "it was all positive". Was informed that the next stage was a data entry test which would consist of "typing addresses on letters".
That is not what happened.
After the assessor explained the four week training programme and offered reassurances that we (there was another candidate present for the test) would be fully supported when going live, the data entry test turned out to involve submitting data into the database that we would need four weeks training for!
I was sitting so close to the other candidate that we were touching as we typed and I think my goose was cooked when I asked if I could move along a bit to give us more room.
I failed the test by 1 mark and therefore, the entire selection process. Apparently, I misread a customer's signature on the source document. When I pointed out that some signatures - including my own - are illegible, the assessor kept repeating "but she signed it as ...."
In all my working life, I have never known a company to not consider everything a candidate has to offer and Capita really needs to look at it's selection process.
