Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Fresher DevOps Engineer to join our fast-paced engineering team. This entry-level role is perfect for a recent graduate eager to learn the principles and practices of DevOps, with a focus on improving and automating our software delivery and infrastructure management processes. You will work as a bridge between development and operations, contributing to faster, more reliable, and secure software releases.
Key Responsibilities
· CI/CD Pipeline Support: Assist in the maintenance and execution of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
· Automation: Write and maintain simple scripts (e.g., in Python or Bash) to automate routine and repetitive tasks across development and operations environments.
· Infrastructure Assistance (IaC): Learn and support the provisioning and management of cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
· Containerization: Assist in the creation and management of application containers using Docker and learn the fundamentals of container orchestration with Kubernetes.
· Monitoring & Logging: Participate in setting up and monitoring system health, application performance, and logging using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK Stack.
· Version Control: Utilize Git for version control, including branching, merging, and pull request workflows to maintain code integrity.
· Collaboration: Work closely with software developers and IT operations to quickly identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system and deployment issues.
· Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for new processes, configurations, and automation scripts.
Required Skills & Qualifications
· Operating Systems: Solid foundation in Linux command-line tools and basic system administration.
· Version Control: Hands-on experience with Git (GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket).
· Scripting: Basic proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash/Shell, or PowerShell).
· Networking: Understanding of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, Firewalls).
· Cloud Basics: Familiarity with a major cloud provider (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) is a plus.
· Tool Exposure (Preferred but not required): Basic knowledge or demonstrable experience with at least one tool from each of these categories:
· CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
· Containerization: Docker.
· Configuration Management/IaC: Ansible or Terraform.
· Problem-Solving: A keen, analytical mind with a strong desire to troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems.
· Continuous Learning: Eagerness to quickly learn and adopt new tools, technologies, and methodologies in a rapidly evolving field.
· Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration across cross-functional teams.
