About the Role

BOBSEV is looking for an Associate Product Manager – Electronics to support the development, launch, and lifecycle management of electronic products such as EV chargers, smart switches, smart plugs, UPS systems, water level controllers, PCB-based products, IoT devices, and energy management products.

The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of electronics hardware, product development, manufacturing, testing, certification, and market requirements. This role will work closely with engineering, PCB design, procurement, manufacturing, quality, sales, marketing, and vendor teams.

Key Responsibilities

Product Planning & Requirements

• Assist in creating Product Requirement Documents
• Collect market, customer, and competitor information
• Define product features, specifications, pricing targets, and use cases
• Support product roadmap planning for electronics and IoT products
• Convert business ideas into clear product requirements for engineering teams

Electronics Product Development

• Coordinate with hardware, firmware, mechanical, and PCB design teams
• Track product stages such as concept, prototype, EVT, DVT, PVT, pilot production, and mass production
• Help review product design, BOM, enclosure, firmware features, app requirements, and packaging
• Maintain product documents, version history, and technical specifications

Vendor & Procurement Coordination

• Work with suppliers for components, modules, PCB fabrication, SMT assembly, enclosures, packaging, and testing services
• Assist in comparing vendor quotations, lead times, MOQ, quality, and certifications
• Track BOM cost and help reduce product cost without affecting quality

Testing, Quality & Certification

• Coordinate product testing such as functional testing, burn-in testing, safety testing, EMI/EMC, thermal testing, and reliability testing
• Support certification documentation for BIS, WPC, CE, FCC, RoHS, UL, IEC, AIS, and other applicable standards
• Track defects, failures, design changes, and corrective actions
• Work with QA teams to ensure products meet quality standards before launch

Manufacturing & Launch Support

• Support pilot production and mass production readiness
• Coordinate with manufacturing teams for assembly process, test jigs, work instructions, QC checklist, and packaging
• Assist in product launch planning with sales, marketing, and support teams
• Prepare product datasheets, manuals, training materials, and website content

Product Lifecycle Management

• Maintain product master data, BOM, revisions, supplier information, and certification records
• Track product issues after launch and coordinate improvements
• Support warranty, service, RMA, and customer feedback analysis
• Help plan future product versions and feature upgrades

Required Skills

• Basic knowledge of electronics components, PCB, embedded systems, IoT, power electronics, or electrical products
• Ability to understand technical specifications, datasheets, BOMs, and product drawings
• Strong coordination skills across engineering, manufacturing, vendors, and business teams
• Good documentation and communication skills
• Basic understanding of product development lifecycle
• Ability to manage tasks, timelines, and follow-ups
• Good Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and project tracking skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Planner, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools is a plus

Preferred Technical Knowledge

Experience or understanding in any of the following is preferred:

• EV chargers: 7.4kW, 22kW, 30kW, 60kW, 120kW, 240kW
• Smart switches, smart plugs, sensors, and IoT products
• UPS, power supplies, rectifier modules, battery systems
• ESP32, WiFi, Bluetooth, relays, MCUs, sensors
• PCB design and SMT assembly process
• Firmware and mobile app product coordination
• BIS, WPC, CE, FCC, RoHS, IEC certification process
• Manufacturing stages: EVT, DVT, PVT, pilot run, mass production

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, ECE, Embedded Systems, Product Design, or related field
• MBA or product management certification is a plus, but not mandatory
• 1–3 years of experience in electronics product development, product coordination, hardware projects, manufacturing, procurement, or technical project management
