GAIA is a large language model (LLM) platform that serves as the backbone for BMW in developing AI-driven solutions for internal stakeholders.
We are seeking a AWS Cloud and DevOps Engineer to join our BMW Techworks teams of highly skilled specialists responsible for designing, building, and operating cloud-native solutions.
Our services are primarily built and operated on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform. In this role, you will take a hands-on position in architecting, automating, and optimizing cloud infrastructure while ensuring reliability, scalability, and security across environments. You will work closely with development teams to implement DevOps best practices, streamline CI/CD pipelines, and enable high-performing cloud ecosystems.

What should you bring along?
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering and DevOps roles
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services in production environments
- Proven experience implementing DevOps methodologies and automation strategies
- Strong problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to operational challenges
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Ownership mentality with focus on reliability, scalability, and performance
- Passion for automation, continuous improvement, and cloud innovation
Must have technical skill
- Deep hands-on experience with core AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, EKS, Lambda, CloudWatch)
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
- CI/CD pipeline implementation using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline
- Containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS preferred)
- Configuration management tools such as Ansible or similar
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Shell scripting
- Monitoring and logging solutions (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
- Experience with networking concepts, DNS, load balancing, and CDN
- Cloud security best practices, IAM policies, encryption, and secrets management
- Version control systems such as Git
- Experience with automated testing and deployment strategies
Good to have technical skills
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, SysOps Administrator)
- Experience with multi-account AWS environments and landing zone architecture
- Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimization strategies
- Experience with serverless architectures
- Exposure to microservices architecture patterns
- Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud environments
- Understanding of DevSecOps practices and security automation
- Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles
- Familiarity with observability frameworks and distributed tracing
- Knowledge of data services and streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka)
