Job Summary

As an Associate Software Developer at Lumiknox, you will be part of a specialized technology team building HIPAA-compliant healthcare data systems, coding automation tools, and revenue integrity platforms for US health plans, Medicare Advantage organizations, and Third-Party Administrators.

You will work across the full software development lifecycle including designing, developing, and maintaining applications that directly support medical coding operations, HCC risk adjustment workflows, and claims integrity functions for US payer clients.

Candidates new to healthcare technology are welcome. We provide hands-on training on US healthcare data standards including ICD-10, HL7, FHIR, and claims processing workflows during the initial onboarding period.

We are looking for candidates with strong logical thinking, analytical capabilities, and a hunger to learn. Basic coding knowledge or experience in any programming language is a prerequisite.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
• Solid understanding of software development principles and methodologies
• Proficiency in at least one programming language. Python, Java, JavaScript, or C++ preferred
• Familiarity with databases including SQL or NoSQL
• Basic understanding of APIs and data integration concepts
• Good to have: exposure to healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, and ICD-10
• Good to have: prior internship or project experience in data processing or automation
• Good to have: familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure basics

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain internal tools supporting medical coding operations, QA workflows, and accuracy tracking systems
• Build and maintain data pipelines processing US healthcare claims data in a HIPAA-compliant environment
• Collaborate with senior developers and the coding operations team to understand requirements and develop technical specifications
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging of applications to ensure data accuracy and system reliability
• Participate in code reviews and give and receive constructive feedback
• Stay updated with emerging healthcare technology standards including FHIR, HL7, and CMS data requirements
• Document software designs, processes, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing
• Support integration of third-party healthcare data tools and APIs
• Assist in deployment and maintenance of applications in production environments
• Contribute to building Lumiknox's AI-assisted coding and analytics capabilities
